They're perfectly fine, friend. Though they don't look quite as good on me as they do on you.

Oh, no. Not at all. I just like to pick up the skill-set necessary to succeed at what I deem important.

I suppose they are more fit for my figure. I am not near as daring as you in the wardrobe department, I find it very admirable. You always cut a striking figure.

And that skill set includes riddles?

There's a lot a good suit can do for a man, I always think it's best to show yourself at your best at all times. Perhaps when I regain my fortunate and position, I could buy you a little thank you gift. I think I could pick you out a suit that would do wonders for you. Not that your current clothes are bad, of course.

That is a very generous offer and a lovely thought, my friend, but I'd not want to impose.

With all that you've already taught me, I'm the one who owes you.

I'm picking up all kinds of lingo from you. It's really rather infectious.

How long have you loved riddles?

I didn't save your life but you certainly saved mine. My debt is bigger but I'm glad to repay it in any way I can. Teaching you is the least I can do.

Language steadily evolves. I'd not want to fall behind.

Always. The mind is trained like any other part of you. Straightforward thinking is the path to mediocrity.

Perhaps you are right then, because your life, my dear friend, is undeniably valuable. To all of Gotham, perhaps, and most assuredly to me. Beyond measure.

I was never a fan of riddles but some days. I almost find myself endeared.

You consider me valuable? I suppose I am quite an asset to someone of your leanings. I'll try my best to be a good enough teacher but I'm afraid my life isn't as valuabe as you may think it to be.

These days I'm not much of anything.

As a friend, you're more valuable to me than you might ever realise. That I have so much yet to learn is not what our friendship hinges on.

But you and I both know that Gotham needs you.

It's so strange to me. To have friends like this. I'm not entirely used to the idea. Not to say that I don't like it. You're already more promising than the last man I considered a friend.

Gotham is a complicated beast, I don't know if I could do much to get her back.

I believe that upon reflection, you might be the only person that has ever been able to actually stand my company. So I concur.

My dear friend. If anyone can tame this beast, it is you.

Very true, my friend. Perhaps we were destined to be together, one way or another. My mother always used to say that you can tell when a friend is true and I just have this feeling about us.

Perhaps us. You never know what the future holds.

Your mother was a wise woman. I do believe in fate. At least with the people most important in my life.

Perhaps you. But I'd be happy to aid you.

She was, she was the wisest person I ever knew. Her advise has never steered me wrong. And neither has yours.

You don't wish to climb higher?

I believe that I am less about the destination and more about the journey.

And perhaps about your destination.

Can I call you Ed? It feels strange just calling you Mr Nygma all the time when we share clothes and all.

You certainly may. I mean, you can. Sure thing, go ahead.

I could watch you game all day. Not that I'm any good at it myself but you, Edward, are entertaining to watch.

You flatter me. I know it is perhaps childish, but there are valuable lessons to be learned as well.

I learned that using some rather unrepeatable words and threatening to get frisky with another players mother is how people 'trash talk' these days.

I'm sorry, I can't help myself. I never hold back when I value someone.
