"How would it be pointless? Have you seen yourself, birdie? For one thing, you look absolutely gorgeous like this. For another, your growing frustration is really entertaining." Edward chuckled and sat up, giving the gun a twirl and almost dropping it. "Alrighty, I need more practice with that." He put the safety back on and set the gun down on the table, considering. "You know what? I believe I'll drug you."
"No, I haven't, Ed. How could I have seen myself?" Yes, he was starting to get huffy. He didn't like the increasing level of smugness that Edward was displaying and he really just wanted to shove him off the desk. Dork. "Be careful with that gun. I mean it, you better not shoot me or I will have you dragged through the streets." He was sure he could hire someone to do. Probably. It was a nice thought, Edward being dragged along like an unruly dog through Gotham as penance. Oh yes, sadistic daydreams like that did make him feel better about this.
Huh. Wait. What did Edward just say? "What?!" Oswald strained up, his eyes wide. "Don't you dare!"
"I'm not shooting you, I put the gun down and everything. Now stay here, I need to get something from my lab." Edward looked around for his glasses, picking them up from the edge of the desk so he could put them on. He hopped to his feet and walked off, ruffling Oswald's hair as he did so. It didn't take him long to return, with a syringe in hand and a smile in place.
"Don't worry, Oswald. It's nothing dangerous." He would never risk him that way. "I just want to give you a chance to cool down before I release you."
"Edward!" Oh for the love of God. Oswald thrashed in his bindings but a swift slice from the letter opener soon reminded him why he needed to calm down. He whined in frustration and prepared to find a way to kick at Edward first chance he got. "I'm being serious, do not drug me!" It was two years ago all over again. Though this time at least he knew what a lunatic Edward was instead of just being confused and horrified when he kept stabbing him with needles.
"You are going to pay for this." There he was again, doing exactly what Oswald had warned him about. "I mean it! I'm going to get you back for this." He was going to reinstall Internet Explorer and purposefully be dense about riddles until he got his chance to tie the other down in kind.
